CHATEAU KAMNIK

  1. Temjanika 2006

A fresh and complex Muscat nose of sweet marzipan, pineapple, almonds, rose petals, zesty citrus fruit and a hint of cloves was followed by a dry supple spicy citrus green apple hinted wine with quit some alcohol. Lots of charm. Drink it well chilled. Great fun!

  1. Chardonnay 2005

Delicious sweet floral perfume of wild honey, ripe white pear, banana and candy bubblegum. Opulent round clean fresh zesty citrus wine with lots of ripe exotic fruits, revealing alcohol and good grip. Expressive and very pleasing!

  1. Chardonnay Barrique 2006

Wow! This Kamnik barrel fermented late harvest Chardonnay is just fabulous. Spectacular gorgeous sweet scents of jammy banana and lush ripe melon honey wrapped in a seductive fine roasted vanilla nose. A fabulous massive sweet super ripe spicy pallet of mashed banana, sappy white pears and again candy bubblegum. Behold of the alcohol (15, 1 %) if not served chilled.  Tour de force. Superb!!!

  1. Syrah 2005

Rich massive well integrated “chateauneuf” chocolaty coffee roasted vanilla nose packed with intense ripe black cherry liquor and aromas. Silky velvety barrique wine that is pure kirsch mixed with black plums, sour red cherries and minerals. Good tannins, fresh acidity and definition. Huge enjoyment. Ambitious!

  1. Cabernet sauvignon 2005

Restrained and elegant. Seems very French. Spice black fruit and rich cassis tobacco roasted cedar wood scented nose. Deep luscious sweet ripe vibrant black- redcurrant and plum fruit flavours. Lively acidity and noticeable alcohol. Rustic young wine that needs some time.  Beautifully constituted.  Doit s’arrondir!

  1. Cabernet sauvignon 2004

Put your seat belts on because the CBS barrique 2004 is prodigious!  12 months of new oak. My tasting notes simply read, “no one will believe how great this wine is.” Similar in style to the 2005 but more complex richer with greater texture. A phenomenally fine smoky rich tobacco cedary scented nose followed by a load of succulent black forest fruits, soft sour cherries and ripe plums. This polished classy wine will age well for a decade, although it will undoubtedly be at its finest during its first 5-6 years of life.  Impressive happy endings!

POPOV

  1. Muscat 2005

Opulent ripe sweet perfumes of intense fresh pineapple, mango, melon, rose petals and honey backed up by crunchy green apple with a lot of exuberant sensual exotic pineapple, melon and Sauvignon like citrus flavours. Mmm… Utterly delicious. Grand fraicheur. Best now, no time to lose!

  1. Chardonnay 2006

“Grand” Chardonnay oozing with caramel honeyed scents, sweet ripe white pear, exotic fruits and white flower perfumes.  Zesty attractively fat, rich, ripe and generous white sweet exotic fruits on the palate. Great length. What well aimed Chardonnay is al about.  Superb!

  1. Chardonnay Barrique 2005

A well balanced “Cuvée magistrale” that offers a generous smoked vanilla roasted cedary scented nose bursting with distinguished soft fragrant white flowers, ripe banana, sweet mango and pineapple fruit. It is so mouth watering delicious that I just want keep on smelling it. What follows is a spectacular fine roasted vanilla taste with intense creamy white exotic fruits expressively sweetening the taste buts. Some alcohol but great depth. Truly sensual.  I’m lost forever!

  1. Merlot 2005

Generous notes of fine liquorish roasted vanilla oak are marking the grassy note, perfumed peppery spiced crunchy raspberry and strawberry fruit scents that are unwrapping in my glass.  This full bodied wine caresses my palate with ripe jammy luscious raisiny rasp- and strawberry fruit. Some dry tannins in the finish. This attractive young good balanced wine drinks well now but needs two more years to give its best. There are some rewards for patience. Pleasure guaranteed!

  1. Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

Intense sweet juicy vibrant super ripe blackcurrants and cassis aromas. Opulent, toasted and oaky vanilla with an exotic spiced coffee overlay. Very rich, luscious black- and blueberry fruits with some assertive fresh acidity. Concentrated and well balanced. Sumptuous and complex. Good length. Sopot born enjoyment. Bingo!

  1. Vranec 2005

This powerful structured and traditionally well made opulent Vranec announces a concentrated open-knit smoky toasted vanilla nose loaded with sumptuous super ripe sun driven quirky black cherry fruit liquor and ripe plum jam as well in the nose as on the palate. This massive fruit bomb wine possesses great depth and a long soft spicy velvety tannic textured finish. Great drink. By the way…you should try the magnificent 2004. One cannot bestow enough kudos on its maker!!!
