Chardonnay Barrique 2005

Medium amber golden greenish colored wine. Delicious zesty oaky nose.  Lively citrus pineapple and toasty vanilla tones with purity and charm.  The palate is broad, well defined and creamy. There’s a fine fruited depth of fresh vibrant lemony citrus, ripe pineapple, mashed banana and sweet vanilla.  Well knit, focused fresh and seductive barrel fermented Chardonnay.  Most appealing and certainly a success.

Cuvée Kratosija / Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

Brilliant purple in the core and ruby edged wine with impressive tearing on the glass. It takes a while to open but in the nose beautiful impressions of a walk through the forest after the rain. Very appealing black fruits. Fresh and vibrant wild strawberry, blackberry, red candy like taste with a peppery element. Smooth round and silky. Good structure, tannins and it finishes very gently.  A lovely complete wine indeed!

Merlot 2005

A fairly dark purple colored wine.  A sweet meaty merlot fruited nose with a discrete leather vanilla perfumed character. On the palate it has a nice texture with some backbone acidity and jammy luscious rasp- and strawberry fruits.  It becomes apparent that this is a very typical Merlot with just a little citrus note in the background. Good fleshy presence.  And for his price….. beaucoup OK.

Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

A lovely depth of colour here. Youthful brilliant deep purple Cabernet. The elegant nose has a vibrancy, a meaty minerally character complete with jammy cassis and a hint of green peppers. Attractive very Cabernet palate of black forest fruits and good flesh covering the tannins. Luscious black fruit, cassis flavored drinking wine inviting you to have a second glass and more….A real friend!

Plavac / Vranec 2005 

This is a fully attractive hit black, deep purple edged youthful looking wine. A gorgeous rich emerging nose of sweet black cherries, blackberries and wild strawberries. What follows is a meaty mouth filling palate of sweet creamy jammy black fruits and plums. Fabulous extract with fully integrated tannins and correct acidity.  Mouth watering luscious enough to keep on drinking….and drinking.  A benchmark wine for its price. Very glad that the wineries young manager Zoran Petar would sell me some bottles.

Vranec Barrique 2002

A deep typical Vranec purple wine although without the mahogany tinge of aging or maturity. The nose here is amazingly earthy and profound more rustic than the younger wines before. But also quite complex. You can smell the aging but can’t see it.  Dominated by delicious classically mature fruit with sumptuous fragrant notes and distinguished flavors of sweet liquorish vanilla oak, forest leaves, humus and undergrowth. Great harmony, length and…mucho elegance.  Would profit from decanting.  The wine of the tasting for me I would say.  My compliments!!!
